Home Renovation
Custom made timber renovation of an outdoor entertainment area including pool surrounds comprised of a deck, outdoor shower, machinery box, floating bench as well as a front yard deck. The pool deck has two unique features - an unusual curve around the perimeter which is very challenging to create with timber. Different thicknesses of wood also had to be integrated to were also required for this project, which was also a challenge. The outdoor bench got a unique design with the lights underneath it giving it a floating appearance.
Timber Works
The primary timber utilised for this project, Tallowwood (Eucalyptus microcorys), is an extremely durable hardwood with pale yellow-brown heartwood and moderately coarse grain. It’s durability and density makes it perfect for outdoor applications, though you do pay for the privilege and it takes time and patience to work with it.
Heritage Renovation
For this heritage renovation project, the focus was on replacing a range of internal period features. Timber elements included replacing 10 doors and trim, windows, skirting, architraves and wall panelling. Brick columns and sections of the wall were also removed, rendered and painted. The original period timber flooring and stairs on the ground and first floors were also sanded and stained.
